Not exactly kayak rigging, but I thought some of you might find this interesting. Today was the first time I used this at the ramp. With a full tank (about 8 gallons w/room for air) it lasted a little over 5 mins. Plenty of time to knock the salt off my boat and gear, including myself. I had the regulator set to 30 psi which blasted water over 30’ away, and the compressor cycled 5 times.

That's neat, John.
I use the garden hose when I get home to spray my boat and gear. Sometimes it takes me 30 minutes to get everything washed and put away.
If I had a pickup I'd consider what you have. It would complete much of the cleanup job before I got home.
I hope your outing was good.Mark

I made another one of these that I’ll use for a shower in warmer months. You could easily strap this to your mini van, haha. We’re trading in our Subaru for a mini van this week, as we just added a new family member two weeks ago. I’m really looking forward to driving it. Or even better taking naps on long hauls.

Congratulations on your new family addition. Congrats also on the minivan. They're not vehicles you think about when you're a teenager, nor during a midlife crisis. (I wanted a Mustang.) But they're very functional for hauling kids and grandkids and they make fantastic fishmobiles. I can carry my kayak on the roof and four fully rigged unbroken 7 to 9 foot rods inside along with all my other gear.Mark

The black tank, which you are correct is good old 6" PVC coated in bed liner, is the water storage. I think it's around 8-9 gallons, but I don't fill it all the way to leave some room for air. The upper tank is slightly more, maybe 9-10 gallons.

This is what I loosely modeled my design from, but this one costs twice as much (not factoring in OBA), holds about 1/3 of the capacity, and does not maintain constant pressure.

My shower tank is modeled after this one, but again much larger capacity. The RoadShower is aluminum however, and probably warms up a bit faster.

For what I spent on both of them, I could have only bought one or the other. I know very few of you guys will ever want something like what I put together, but I shared it anyway. My tanks only make sense if you're planning to have OBA system for the other tasks I mentioned before. For the average kayak fisherman the Coop method is the way to go.Last edited by silasvirus82; 03-28-2018, 09:52 AM.2015 Hobie Outback
