Carrying a 14' kayak in a short bed pick up truck?

Anyone know if it'll be OK to haul a 14' yak in a Tacoma with double cab? I don't know how long the bed is, but an extender is needed.

No ....... the Yak exceeds the trucks hauling capacity ..........

I have a 15' Scupper Pro and a Ford Ranger with a 6' bed. I made a rack for cheap with lumber. It's ugly as sin but it gets the job done.

I briefly considered employing my cabinet making skillz to fabricate such a contraption. Storing the thing when not in use is the issue. Im thinking bed extender.......$63 at amazon.com!

My Kayak on the bed extender keeps the speeding camera tickets at bay since they can't see my plate. No issues.

I store the whole thing at work but it tears down easily with bolts into three nice sections. It's not fancy and probably needs some cross-bracing of some sort, but it's functional.

Ditto on the bed x-tender. I mounted a roller to the cross bar and it makes loading the kayak that much easier.

Did DOT make you put lights on, or you did for extra security?

Bed Extender from Harbor frieght for about $40. I use one on my Silverado and I have no problem. I even have a tool box in the bed and my 13ft yak hangs over about 4.5ft. Ditto on the lights. I got stopped a couple weeks ago while enroute to Naysayers. I need to put lights on it according to AACOPD. However MSP says its not necc. What should I do? Doesn't a 1 Trooper trump the whole AACOPD?? LOL. I like the lights and I think I may do that to mine as well.
