Wanted to keep this going cause I am trying to buy things now so it doesnt all add up in November when I want to go out. Does anyone have the aquaskinz brand tops? if so, how do you like it and is it worth the price?

Also, the waders you guys use are not insulated? so its just layers?

I do the waters thing too! Yeah just layer underneath. You don't need to overdue it! I fished Kipto last December and was on the water for at least 8 hours. Key is wear a nice base layer that wicks away moisture. You can go with big $$$ brands like under armour or nike, but I just get mine from Costco for like $15. They sell both the tops and bottoms. But you won't see them there til it gets closer to the Fall. They work perfect! Most times I just put a pair of sweats over them. But if you want to add another thin layer before the sweats you can, but you will probably be too hot.

WARNING! Even if it's not that cold... wear the wicking layer with the sweatpants. You are going to sweat and when that moisture is on your body you get cold real fast... Don't ask how I know... LOL

Sure. If people find it annoying, I'll stop.

You could always compromise and make every other letter purple. That might result in a cool 3D effect.

Kokatat makes an angler version of that suit that has additional layers of fabric on the legs and seat. If my dry suit leaks again this winter, that'll be the one I buy. I've seen them on sale in the $350 range at times.

I know there are a lot of new folks that have recently joined the forum, but we have beat this horse to death over time- we should have a sticky on this topic- my problem with Kokatat is they think kayak fishermen are all 150 pound athletic slim Jims...no fat boy sizes...I use basically the same gear that Kevin does- splash top over high tech insulated underwear and breathable stocking foot waders- it is affordable, works well and fits my fat ass-

No...... miss the adventure of fishing the Potomac in freezing weather and 20 knot winds? Where is your sense of danger and adventure?
Of course if you're eating lil' smokies while drinking that brandy and watching football there might be plenty of wind....
