I use fish grips, but the main issue is the jaws. The jaws are sort of big and thick and sometimes you can't fit the jaws into the mouth of the fish. I think the thinner boga grips might fit better. Also, through wear and tear, the plastic fish grips tend to loose their holding power.
There are other brands, with similar thin metal grips like the Boga, that look like they can do the job well at much lower costs than the Boga.2015 Hobie Outback (yellow)

I got a boga and have one of those weedeater string rod leases attached to it. I only use it for toothy fish, large fish, etc where I can thumb mouth them. I got it after watching Jeff Little loose at 35"+ mabye under 40" snakehead because this plastic fish grip snapped while it was fighting in the kayak. Now, no snakehead is safe once I get the boga on them
Forgot to add, the boga is a cheap knock off and we picked it up last year this time at the fishing shop in Northeast for the Jamboree. They about $15 but under $20 and worth the investment.
You could always add a boga float, you might not be able to notice it in the pic, but its there.
