agreed.. with fish being $10 a pound, and considering how much I eat fish, if I catch just two decent stripers a week that is an extra $400 a month.. I can't afford NOT to have a kayak and use it often!!!

Haha, that speaks to the soul. My wife is Japanese too, so double up the fish meals in our house. I would say I am above water on my spent/caught ratio, but I just payed out a bit more recently that put me back under.

But Longtrav just taught me to crab! So that will definitely bring me back up soon!

I like your logic too, I figured the cost of my kayak the same way. I've been out at least once a week since April, my kayak keeps getting cheaper each trip...just not as drastically as the first few.

            Mrs. Mweber02,

Your husband needs a new kayak, it's for the fish.

                MRs. NWeber02,
I am writing to you on behalf of MR. mweber02, as he is too ill to type. He is in desperate need of a kayak transplant (upgrade), if he doesn't get one soon his condition could become life threatening. He is patiently waiting on the Kayak Donor list but there are no compatible matches out there and we are afraid he will not get one in time. His only hope at this time is to bribe a local kayak shop owner into donating one of his/hers.

Please, I implore you, if you can see it in your heart, assist this poor soul in his hour of need. Just a small donation of $5 a day will allow one Angler to live a full and healthy Kayaking life.. yes you can have a positive impact on another's well being with your spare pocket change. Don't wait, pick up the phone now and pledge your support, you will feel better.

P.S. he says he will be your best friend and love you forever.. he wasn't clear as to weather or not that was related to him getting an upgraded kayak or not.

Computer games are another low cost per hour item.
Dining out is a real high cost per hour.

So... I will HAVE to take it out a lot, the more time I spend in it the lower the cost per hour becomes. The saving grace is that even though the initial cost is quite high ($1000), the hours I spend are cumulative over many years.. as opposed to something like a power boat (bass or walk around) where there are recurring charges to be considered.. gas, maintenance on the engines and electronics, docking fees, launch charges..etc.

At least this is my logic, I will be presenting to the boss.
Pat, if you account for all of the time you will ultimately spend on SnaggedLine, then I doubt you will ever have to worry about your cost/hour being too high. Or maybe that's cooking the books...

Congrats on the new boat, Just don't let the wife know the cost of all the other stuff you will need for your kayak and you should be good.

Dear Mrs. Nweber02, if you allow your husband to get a new kayak, just think of all the additional shopping time you will have. That will do it.

Congrats Pat, I've heard great things about that boat. I recently picked up a moken 10 lite to add to the fleet. I was able to use the excuse it's for our son. I love it! The wheel in the keel is a great feature along with the factory rails. Best wishes getting your new kayak fish slimed!

Congrats on the new boat! My wife has a 4 door Rubi, same color.

I tied a couple loops out of 1" tubular webbing to make an equalled center tie-down in the front. I pass the loops behind the bumper around the bottom and back up over the recovery hooks. Works on both my Jeep and the Wife's.
