The mirage drive is convenient in the warmer months. I don't use the kayak much in the winter. if I could find dry pants with a relief zipper, I probably would go out in cold water more. I'm an old guy and the older I get the more it becomes a problem. I started kayak fishing in 2007 and have never turtled...yet. I just know the first time will be when i'm trying to pee.
Dry pants are much better than a dry suit for long trips where a pee is inevitable. I generally don't go far enough from the shore in winter to not be able to stop and pee on a tree.
#1 is no problem at all unless there are a bunch of people around. #2 is the real problem...especially the day after a night of beer drinking and late night pizza.
