One week to the Lowes Wharf Meet and Greet. We officially have 15 confirmed on attending. If you plan on attending, please respond once you solidify your weekend schedule. This will be a great meet and great for first timers.

Well, knock on wood, but the long range weather forecast for Lowes Wharf as of now, is calling for partly cloudy skies with daytime temperature reaching 85 degrees with 6mph winds from the West. Not bad......

We also have 17 anglers signed up for this outing... it is not to late to jump onboard.

Hey moc, count me in! I've got to book the days inn, but I'll be down for lunch after as well.

Dumb question for everyone. What good lures/baits should I be bringing? I'm a stream trout fisherman from Arizona and have only been here for 2 months trying to get this type of fishing figured out and any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

For perch -- 1/8 oz. jig/spinners or jigs:

                        Cast to edges of structure.

For stripers 1/2 to 1/4 oz. jig heads with plastic trailers or 1/2 oz. crank baits:

Troll or cast. Note the larger perch near Poplar Island will hit these lures also.

I hope bottom fishermen will chime in with their rigs and bait choices.

                        Good luck,

We have 20 Anglers signed up for Saturday and 17 for lunch afterwards. So far we are looking at 4 mph winds NNW on Saturday with temperatures around 87 degrees. Do not forget to bring a new lure or fishing related item for the bucket of lures give away. We will also give a prize for the largest fish caught and measured via photo. This largest fish can be any fish measured from head to tail on your own ruler. Coop and I will look at the picture on the camera to verify what length and species that you are submitting for the winning fish. We will not look at every photo. We will look at just the largest competing fish to make it easy. This is mostly an honor system and it is just for fun to enhance the Meet and Greet since we are having a sizeable turn out. So come sign up and have some fun on Saturday. Coop1486 is making the reservation with the restaurant. We will have extra room for late arrivals and those whose schedules freed up at the last minute.

MOC, are we meeting at the Wawa (Rt 50 Exit 29A) Saturday morning for a convoy to Lowes Wharf? If so, what time should folks be done filling up with gas/coffee/etc and ready to roll out?
