CCA MD Blue Catfish Tournament 4/2

The Central Region's Potomac River is the ultimate place to host a Blue Catfish Tournament. Our Chapter's mission is to promote the great blue catfishing resource that has developed here in Maryland. We have anglers from all over Maryland and all skill levels participating in our event. Our Central Region chapter events provide entertainment for all and some friendly competition to keep things interesting. Again this year we are pleased to have Executive Chef Chad Wells, Alewife Restaurant, and featured on Guy Fieri's Dinners, Dives & Drive'in's for his world famous Invasive Specie Entree's, hosting our Blue Cat Cookout after the Tournament. Come join us and share in the experience of fishing for blue catfish at it’s finest here on the Potomac River.

It was wet about an hour and a half of it. Some of us managed to get some. I got a dozen, nothing bigger than 4 pounds. I placed second, a guy in a hobie placed first.

I feel like the tournament could have been organized a little better, and they could have picked a much better time of year.

I have my doubts the guy in the hobie didnt launch from there, but i was too busy trying to catch a fish. The guys on shore got skunked. Any fish wouldve won the shore div

See that's what they said, and when we asked the CCA guys they said kayakers could launch wherever as long as you weren't transporting live fish.

They didn't even let us know that rule we had to ask. Nice guys but that tournament was fubar.

I will be contacting j.r i asked if we could launch elsewhere and they said no. It was on the rules. It was obvious the hobie guy went elsewhere since he pulled up to the weight station and caught fish that were no where near of what everyone else was catching
