I can confirm a kayak fisherman who said they were in the CCA contest launched out of Ft Washington.

I know we were all aware of the rules, that is the first thing we all look at when entering a tournament. It is not about the prizes, just be honest. If we were to have been allowed to go somewhere else, i probably wouldve brought in a 40 pounder such as this one. I was probably the first kayaker to head out in those rough conditions. I am all about the rules, but then if the weigh ins wouldve been cut off at 1pm like they stressed in the captains meeting- the hobie guy wouldnt have made the cut.

I contacted JR because he clearly told me that we werent allowed to launch anywhere else, his response was that he did the best he could and sorry for any misunderstanding.

I advised him about what we are discussing here and offered to help out next year. maybe it would be best to have the weigh in station by the dock so as you come in, you can weigh in your fish. No driving up to the ramp and unloading fish.

I entered as a shore angler and got skunked all day. Would have brought the yak but with weather this time of year didn't want to pre-register to be blown out of the yak haha. Wish I could have fished the spot I wanted but no one had unlocked the gates at Piscataway park at 7:30 so I had to go to a back up spot and should have moved but was trying to show the youth I brought a good time too.

Crazy that no one from shore caught a single fish! I would hope they take that into consideration when planning the next years tournament. Late May would be a great time of year to host that tournament.

Yeah the sad thing is if I had know that any size fish would have won, I could have went down to Chaptico on the Wicomico river and caught a bunch of blue cats. Oh well it was fun for the kid I brought and he is already talking about how to do better next year and that what counts haha.

Yes late May would be better when the cats get hungry after all the baitfish spawning runs.

Late may would be better weather wise, but I can guarantee you'd catch even less blues as they go to spawn and you will have a hard time finding them, let alone catching them.
