      If you launch in Lewes/Broadkill area you should be fine. Henlopen just depends on the tides and winds. As someone else said the Del Bay portion is just like the flats, it changes in an instant and often you realized it too late.

      Brought my sport caster down last year and launched from the beach for the first time in 10 years. Honestly always found it easier to treat the kayak like a surfboard and swim it out past the breakers. Once you're out, it's smooth sailing. The ride in is again all about timing and using your paddle to steer, as always when in doubt, walk it in.

        Thanks, that was hard to watch. I hope I don't do what he did. I will have less gear and I would have moved about 30 yards away from the point so I wasn't caught in the cross wash. That was awful. Thanks.
