    i agree with gkreps.... almost all my reels are above 6.0-1 ratio and most are much higher. i only have one thats a 4.8 to 1 and thats for shallow crank bait running. i don't fish with spinning gear. i'm all bait casters. the shimano you are thinking about are great reels. i run Shimano and Diawa reels and love em. i like to have high speed when pitching and flipping to get the fish out of the cover quickly. some want power, but most higher end reels these days have more than enough power to pull a 10 pounder out of the cover, its just up to your line you use.
