Looked at the river today at POR at noon .The red danger tape is still half above the caution yellow color on the ramp .very muddy .It will come down more by Saturday . It can be doable but you are not going to be able to fully relax and enjoy. I know a few folks wanted to bring some young kayakers . I elect to move the meet and greet to next week the 10 th . Hopefully the heavy rains will stay away .Will keep you posted early in the week .Those who are interested for next Saturday please post. Sorry guys I want it to be low stress fun for all.

              Thanks Rich,
I agree that a clear and low Potomac is s lot more fun and relaxing. I'll make sure I'm open on the 18th.

I would love to join you guys, I am really interested in river fishing but am a total novice. What time do you think we would launch and land? The 18th is also the date of the Demo Derby at Budds Creek in the evening.

Last year I want to say I launched at 7am and was off the water by 12 or so. It was also my first float trip. By far the best meet and greet! Bring a light action rod, the smallies are a blast!

I'm in if there is room for another novice. Thinking about dragging the camper up and making a nice long weekend out of it. Anyone know of a nice campground nearby?

You can try Antietam Creek Recreation Area. There is also the Maple Tree Campground. I don't believe either allow campers though. Maple Tree has cabin and shelter rentals that may save you from having to haul the camper.

Others may know of other options I'm not aware of.

You can camp on my farm for free with camper or brunswick has a family campground close to the launch
