  • (Tentative) M&G At Smiths Marina June 16th or 17th.

Would like to pull together a meet and greet (plus fishing) at Smiths Marina in Annapolis (Severn River) in the coming weeks before summer kicks into high gear.

Here is what will happen: Fish June 17th (Monday). High tide at 6:13 AM and sunrise @ 5:40- launch @ 5:30... And, as always, plans are subject to change due to weather.

Lunch after at rams head is also an option as long as enough people show up.

Please chime in with any thoughts, and as I get a idea of who will be able to attend I will contact Smiths & make plans.

Update: Monday is final. Sorry to those that were only able to make it on Sunday. I will update anyone coming on Monday with launch info and costs as the date approaches.

(Tentative) M&G At Smiths Marina June 16th or 17th.

Let’s plan for Monday. I would rather have less boat traffic to deal with. The Marina will also be busy because all the schools will be out by then... boat cleaning and launching season.

Please let me know if you can attend so I can make plans. This is a great opportunity to put names to faces and fish in good company.

I appreciate it. Anyone else free Monday morning? If you are put off by the fishing itself... I have yet to have a skunk trip on the river this year.

              Carson,

I'm in. I had to check the calendar to make sure I didn't have rug-rat duty (i.e. watching grandkids). That's something you shouldn't have to worry about for decades.

Mark, John, and anyone else who plans on joining us.
As long as the group stays small-ish, we could launch from my community to avoid parking and launch fees at Smiths. We have access to a beach and a boat ramp. If it is easier to go to Smiths, that is no problem and I will meet you there. Just figured I would put it out there. Would be launching from Sherwood Forest, exactly in between Jonas Green and Smiths. Let me know.

                    Carson,

I would like to join as well. I’ve never fished that section of the Severn.

Harlan and Keith, on the list.

If you have a updated GPS/cellphone my ramp is easy to find.

Will wait to see what everyone else has to say before deciding if we want to launch there or not. Think of it as a new opportunity to fish a new location, for free! [emoji2]

I'm interested in fishing Monday, but I am a lazy old $hit and won't be launching until like 9.a.m.
I find the private launch quite interesting.
                          Access into Brewer Creek?

I only plan to fish for a couple of hours.

                              John x2, sounds good.

Here is a satellite view of Sherwood. Smith’s marina has been pinned for reference. Highlighted in red are the 3 boat ramps. One putting into brewers creek, as Stu mentioned. One goes into Brewers pond. And the final one just puts you right into the main river. I know a few guys wanted to fish Brewers pond, so that could be the best option. And obviously brewers creek is an easy paddle/pedal from there. Perch fishing is normally good in the summer months all along the sea wall. Trolling has been decent in that area too.

Once we decide on a ramp, I will PM everyone who has rsvpd with directions to get there, my cell number, and the gate code to enter the Forest.
