What do I need to start snakehead fishing? Any Snakehead fishing in Cecil County?

I'm pretty sure Steve (the video owner) and Tomytek (commenter) are both local and on this forum from time to time.

I'm here every now and then. Steve(Kambotrout) is a great guy. I fish with him whenever our schedules can synch up. He really has snakehead dialed in. He helped me catch my first snakehead. Now, my obsession for snakehead gets worse every time I fish for them.

I don't want to spot burn, but I can say that the concentration of them is very high on the east. If you really want to catch one, live minnows under a float would be your best bet. You can catch them on the same lures as bass. I personally like throwing hollow body frogs, swim frogs, swimbaits, inline spinners, whopper ploppers, and buzz baits to name a few. If the tide is high, the bite can be tough because they will get way back into cover where you can't reach them. I target weed edges and look for openings with in the weeds. Remember that they can get into really skinny water, so go way back into a place you wouldn't normally think of going. Always keep an eye out on the surface for them sipping air, bubbles, or fry. You will have a lot of missed strikes and throw hooks. That's part of what makes them so exciting to catch. It took me a few trips to catch my first one.

I watched part of that LIVE, Caz Kenny is hilarious (if you follow him on facebook) they really are the next great fishery in the region.

So much so that they're starting to appear as table fare, and retailers are specifically providing gear to target them.

I understand. Just wanted to some direction. Didn't need hot spot just confirming they are in the area so that is not part of the learning curve. I haven't fished for LMB in a very long time. The seminar video was a great help.

Launch at Perry point and fish furnace bay. We catch them there regularly as a by product of bass fishing out of a boat.

Biggest to date came right at the ramp in Havre De Grace.

These spot are frequented by kayakers so I don't think its spot burning but if it is I will pull this down.
