Ryan is right, I had never sat in a kayak when I bought my Outback. I was nervous my first time out for about 3 minutes. Very comfortable and stable. Each new thing like boat wakes, strong wind, fast current, fish on would make me nervous at first but the Outback handled it all with ease.

    Be safe and have fun

Unfortunately the large pants are on back order so might be awhile.

Couldnt decide on L or XL for the pants and didnt realise the L's were not in stock till I ordered.

Was really hoping to splash the new outback for the 1st time this weekend but might have to wait now. Im not ready to freeze my arse off on my 1st outing ... lol. Guess I'll have to burn some gas this weekend and run the Sea Ray over to the chester river.

Also ordered a stolquist fishing PFD, anchor kit and the outback drop in liner from ACK tuesday and that order should be here saturday.
I meant to ask earlier. What is an Outback drop in liner?

It's just like what they have in the front compartment of the PA.
They now make them for the outback and revo.
It's a plastic liner that fits in the front compartment.

I'll post a link later, I'm on my phone right now.

I thought about getting a liner for my front hatch, but I have my batteries in the front hatch and I was wondering if it would work for me. How much clearance is there from the bottom of the boat to the bottom of the liner when its in place.

I'll let you know when it comes in....hopefully tomorrow.
If your battery is tucked in before the opening, you should be fine.
The liner is obviously not wider than the opening.

The one I saw at backyard boats was approximately 10 inches deep.

Got everything delivered this weekend and those dry pants are very nice and fit perfectly. Havent tried the jacket on yet but hopefully will be getting the outback wet one day this week.

The hatch liner is 8 1/4" deep.

Any good weather weekends I'll be on the boat fishing with my GF.
She loves to fish too and till I get a second kayak for her to use, we will be burning gas.

I work 2-10 so will hopefully start getting out on weekday morning trips.

Does anyone have the tempest paddling jacket?

It has a stowable hood attached but i see no way to stow it and wondering how others do it. I can definitely see the value of the hood when it gets colder or raining but for right now its a bulky cumbersome mess around my neck.
