I have an older PA (before the new style seat) I changed out the Hobie seat for a well padded bass boat type seat. The Hobie aluminum frame has the same bolt pattern, so it was an easy swap.

The Compass seat is different than the Cadillac seat in the PA's and Outback's.

I rented a Compass in Hilton Head last year for Reds fishing, and could not take that seat for longer than three hours. That's the one thing they need to change, because I really liked the weight of the compass and simplicity.

I got this for my Hobie 2019 and it's awesome. I use it without the cover and so if it gets wet the water drains right out.

That looks a lot like the Wondergel pad I have. They are superior in butt comfort to any of the kayak seat pads I have tried.

Great, I go looking for a Wondergel pad and it appears they are no longer available. I used the Skwoosh pad for some years and was happy with it. However, the last two I got for the car and house didn't last long. The gel migrated into a blob. My original pad in the kayak is still going strong.

I had several Skwoosh pads that I liked at the time. I even carried one in my backpack for use on airplane flights. But I had a similar experience with the gel pouches shifting. I tried a Yakgear pad and felt it was too firm and did not provide cushioning for my body shape.

Next I bought a blue Wondergel pad at Sams Club in the office furniture section. It had a trapezoidal shape that fit my seat well perfectly. I have been using that for several years on every trip. Sam's stopped carrying the product the following year. They began carrying a different gel pad made by Purple. It is square, and fits on my other kayak with a frame-style seat. It was very similar in construction to the Wondergel. I don't thing Sams carries that product any longer, but do think it is available online. https://www.samsclub.com/p/purple-se...n/prod22210663

If you want to try this style of seat pad, check out a Purple chair cushion, or look at the blue colored one that daolai posted.

I will follow up on my previous post with this offer. If you would like to try out a gel seat cushion without actually buying one, you can stop at my house in Annapolis, borrow one of my cushions for a day or 2, then return it. I have two of them and can still go fishing even with one loaned out.

These cushions are surprisingly heavy such that mailing them is not a practical option. If interested, send me a pmail.

I feel your pain...older Hobie seats gave me “numb butt syndrome”...not anymore with the vantage seats...not an easy chair seat but It is ok for four of five hours of steady peddling...at 74 somethings always hurts...Just a fact of life..

Thanks for the offer John but I decided to purchase a purple cushion. I did some research and there are many people who say good things about them.
