Gosh I hope not!! If you must, and I hope you don't but if you do, I vote for Dave and Busters. Plenty of room, good cheap food and beverage and centrally located to most on the post that have responded. As a famous person once said, "If it aint broke don't fix it"... Looking back through the postings, It appears to me that all but one or two people on here were OK with what Surfdog has put together. Like he said you can't please everyone. Sorry for offending anyone!!!Tom Brown

Surf Dog, here is a list of the members who said that they will make it. So far we have 21 potentially coming. If I missed anyone or if anyones status of attendance have changed, then please chime in.
I think it will be a good idea for everyone to think about places that they would like to fish for the meet and greets for 2012. This will help move along the meeting before the beer takes affect of our mental processes. I guess if everyone comes up the places and locations and species in for as many months as they can come up with, then we can complile the list at D&B and take a vote on the locations that have the most support for each month. This is just an idea to help move the reason for the meeting along, since the fun of seeing everyone will most likely have us stray from the topics after we get food and drinks in our belly.
If you want to start brain storming ideas of location now online, then that is fine too. I can compile it and bring it to the meeting and we complete it at D&B and vote on the final M&G locations.

Just to help out, here was the preliminary M&G Schedule that we had for 2011made up by Bryan. You can use this as a starting framework. There might be locations in this M&G that most may want to repeat, or move around depending on when particular species are in abundance in the area. I have also included an attachment on a format that list the dates and possible locations for the M&G. Download it and print it out. It is in PDF format. Bring it with you to the M&G and we can change it and fill it in. Like I mentioned before, I can add tentative locations in the list now just to make it easier for us to discuss on the 14th.
Here is the link to the 2012 M&G tentative worksheet http://home.comcast.net/~mcharles007/2012MG.pdf
2011 Meet & Greet Tenative Schedule
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We had 14 at the M&G today. Thanks to everyone who attended.
We did come up with a tentative schedule for the year. Will need someone to volunteer each month to make sure we have a place to launch and find a location for lunch and/or dinner or let us know if we need to bring somehting to eat.
Whomever sets it up will also need to look at tides, weather etc. Decide what time of day. Definately want to do some afternoon/evening fishing. Some have also asked about meeting on Sunday instead of Saturday.
Let us know if you would like to volunteer. I can cover, May, Aug, Sept and November.
Feb - Get together for rigging and/or lure making
March - Shad fishing - location - day?
April 9th - Rockfish - Susky Flats -
May 14 - Bay Bridge - Spring Trophy Season
June 11 - Afternoon/Evening - Pt. Lookout - flounder, croaker, rockfish
July 9 - Snakehead Hunt - Mattawoman Creek - Potomac
Aug 13 - Bay Bridge - Tournament - Rockfish, perch, bluefish
Sept. 10 - Spanish Mackeral, Rockfish - Ferry's Cove, Eastern Bay
Oct. 8 - Cowhead Ray Hunt - Rockfish - South River
Nov. 12 - Rockfish, Perch - Bachlors Pt. Oxford, Choptank River
Dec. 10 - KiptopeakeLast edited by moc; 01-14-2012, 12:07 PM.

Couple of personal observations/Comments for thought and consideration:
1. Spring Flounder run is peaking late April- mid May at Chinoteaque
2. Big Black drum run is in full swing late April/May at Kiptopeake/C-10 buoy
3. Snakeheads are most actively feeding in June and big Cobia are hanging round Concrete Ships/Kiptopeake and CBBT (Lattimer Shoals)
4. Speckled Trout run starts late September runs through early November"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS
2018 Seagrass Green Hobie Compass, Humminbird 798 ci HD SI

I think I already said this but, if anyone else is game, I think we should do a Feb meet and greet on the Susky for Yellow Perch. Launch would be Jean Roberts park. Tidewater Grille could be a possibility for lunch and we could easily just paddle/peddle there and tie-up on there dock.

The Tournament is still in September. Hopefully we can double the outcome and participation.
This can be a topic for discussion at the M&G. There were many MKF at the Tournament last year and I think that there will be more this year. Also the TKAA Tornament was represented by 15 MKF members on the 25 of September. So maybe just for the month of September we could either vote to switch the date of the M&G, or make the CBKA the M&G location for September.Last edited by moc; 01-03-2012, 04:24 PM.
