I grew up 35 miles north of the OBX and spent almost 15 years down there, up and down the island, just like a rat running the street gutters!

I got the nickname from my Grandmother. I kept my boat at her dock across from Solomons island for years. I would go out every chance I had fishing for Rockfish and come back skunked once in a while.
She would ask me if I was trying to catch them or just chase them around the bay. You had to be tuff skinned to make it in my family.

Everyone should believe in something... I believe I'll go fishing.

It's actually my wife's screen name, which is a combo of names of her now deceased pet dogs. I should really get my own name, so a change is forthcoming.

MOC is actually just my initials, but pronounced it sounds like MACH. In the 80's I use to like to play flight simulator games and use to use the afterburners, so the name MACHBURNER stuck because of the afterburners and the speed of sound of the jets, hench MACH. But when I started visiting the fishing and crabbing boards I just simplified the name MACHBURNER to just MOC. It is funny after awhile your friends just refer to you as your alias. In my case it is MOC or MACH.
