Rudder on paddle yak?

I bet cost is a factor in not adding them. I paid about 230 for my smart track rudder kit that I installed on my old yak

I had a rudder on my ride 135, I hated it. I was always snaking instead of paddling straight and getting lines caught on it while trolling was a pain. I think had I spent more time with it I may have ended up liking it, but I doubt it. I think on a long boat that doesn't turn well and for long distances, maybe I would want it more. I also had one on the ultimate, but I never even used it once.

After paddling today, a rudder would've been nice. I'm way out of paddling shape, but the wind was blowing from 45* off the bow on the right side, so my left side got a workout covering the open part of our paddle today.
