I dont have any extra gear(yet) or extra yak, but I have a tandem. I've been to the Wounded Warrior games out in Colorado and had a blast working with those guys and gals. I'd be glad to help out when I can.

I would LOVE to help out with this. I work with a lot of these men and women and can only imagine how it must be to come home after a stint in the war zone. You can count me in for fishing gear and either use of my yak or me going to help in it. Just let me know.

Thanks Cajun. I'm just waiting on the official paperwork to be finalized which I hope should be within a month or so. I've gotta get some more guys their paperwork and we get our chapter!!! I'm making a list of who has what, (gear and Yaks) with a goal of having our first official outting the 1st weekend in May of this year, something like the 5th perhaps. Thanks for stepping up to the plate

I have an extra sit in and 4 inflatables, they are great on calm water and for beginners but I wouldn't take them out in the bay. At the very least I can offer my time and use of some of my gear. I have a few spare rods... 15 or so

My experience in starting a chapter of anything has been that besides the organizational aspects of the intial phase, there is concern for operating funds.

Suppose I donate my services as a free mothership trip for three yaks, anglers and gear ,to your group. Could you parlay that into a funds generating event ? Either by auction, raffle , or other ?

Wow what a generous offer!! Yes to to needing some operational funds. I need to get gear for the soldiers we are taking out and such. I think I can turn this into a raffle or some type of fundraiser. I will get back to you shortly in reference to your offer. I need to secure the chapter at this time and that's where the phase of things are at this time. This would make an awesome Raffle!!! Wanna check with the President Jim and ask his guidance.

Not to toot my own horn, but I am decent behind a BBQ so if we need to make it a eating event let me know and I will work what magic I can. I also brew beer and can bring those kegs if it will be that type of event.

We can also chat with the people at Bass Pro and see about donations or maybe using the area for an event like other groups do there on the weekends. Just throwing ideas around, I love the group and the message behind it so I want to help any way I can.

Much like jarradw, I too could help out with food. I cook whole pigs for people(usually relatives and friends). If we have an event where there will be a large number of people, i might be a good idea to raise money. Just throwing it out there. I think we are all just eager to hear that everything is ready medicyaker so we can begin to plan things out.

Of course, it would require us to possibly stay up all night and drink beer to cook it, depending on how big of one we get...
