  • Today at the Swap Meet

I want to thank anyone who had anything to do with making this, our first attempt at a Fishing Flea Market/Swap Meet. I especially want to thank the management group or Web Masters of Snaggedline.com. I'm not an emotional kind of individual but you guys turned me into one!!! Today's event was a HUGE SUCCESS to say the least!!! I want to thank anyone who stopped in to just say high or to shop the 30+ vendors or to buy some raffle Tix. For those of you that where not around at the end, Snaggedline.com's leadership decided to donate their half of the proceeds to about $350 or more to go to the other benefactor of our event, Heroes on the Water, (the wounded Soldiers coming home from serving their country) and double the amount of work that we can do for thos folks. (that is when I lost it and got all emotional). Honest, I didn't mean to start crying but it happened and sorry for looking like a softy! That action alone just proves that this is the finiest group of men that I have ever been associated with!!! I've always known that the members of MKF and Snaggedline are the best bunch of guys on the water. That just solidified it. If anyone asked for help on anything, the guys on this forum respond, either by offering advice or by actually going in person and helping with the problem. I'm not sure if all of you know it or not but one of the Vendors at the Swap Meet, Mr Robert Mehl, who was at the far end of the hall from the entrance, DONATED 4 KAYAKS to Heroes on the Water for our effort to get the guys on the water!! If you ever go to another show and see him, be sure to thank him. He usually has a large grey trailer that he sells from and is always at the PSG event at Early Heights. The Kayaks I think are called Emotions and he gave us three 8ft sit in yaks and one 11.5 Fishing kayak rigged for fishing. This yak is valued at $750 alone. I'm not sure how I'm gonna use the smaller yaks but I'm sure we'll find a way.
We had over 250 shoppers come through the door and we were steadlily busy all day. The rod raffle was won by a Glen Burnie man whose last name was Dixon. I don't want to post the total on here but I will meet you all at the meet and greet and tell you all there the total that will be turned over to Heroes on the Water. I can tell you that it will be well over $600. This could not have been possible without the help of everyone here on this forum. I want to make our first outing with our Warriors sometime around May.
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN and there will be more to follow.
Thanks from a very humbled Medicyaker

That's a great act of kindness and generosity by the group. It was pretty crowded when i came through the hall this morning. I was impressed at the turn out when I was there. Can't wait until the M&G next week. Ive never fished the Severn so I'm pretty excited and hope to at least catch one fish while there.

Tom, Looks like all your work paid off. Thanks for your efforts in coordinating this event.

Hey, Tom. Great job! Thanks for putting it all together. Your hard work sure paid off.

Looked like a good turn out. Got there about 10 am. Chatted with MFK guys (Moc, Redfish, Memory Maker, Surfdog, Foursteps, Mtymouse, Grady, Naysayer, Veil, Medicyaker, Grilled Sardines, Stupidjet, CBkayak and Rockchaser) and others. I think I named all.

Bought a bunch a lures I didn't need. Can't wait to try the new Bust'em Baits alabama rigs (4" and 7").

Good Job Tom. It looks like your hard work really paid off. Good news on the donated kayaks, man what a nice Vendor. It was good meeting the crew. I picked up a sweat shirt and a T Shirt from Rockchaser. I also bought some shad darts from one of the vendor and a surf rod holder. I also bought one of those suction devices from Memory Maker that some of you on MKF used to make rollers to help car top your kayaks. The pit beef was good too. I also bought a hobie side rod holder from Back Yard Boats. It was a good turn out.

Great job guys. Looks like you had a really nice turnout. I wanted to make it up, but got caught up in a house project. I would like to say this is the best group of fishing guys I have met on the internet. There is nothing negative usually, and everyone usually wants to do something to help out great causes. I look forward to getting involved and meeting you guys face to face.

It was essentially a M&G with stuff there for us to spend money on lol. I swear I did not intend to come home with three rods.
