I want to thank anyone who had anything to do with making this, our first attempt at a Fishing Flea Market/Swap Meet. I especially want to thank the management group or Web Masters of Snaggedline.com. I'm not an emotional kind of individual but you guys turned me into one!!! Today's event was a HUGE SUCCESS to say the least!!! I want to thank anyone who stopped in to just say high or to shop the 30+ vendors or to buy some raffle Tix. For those of you that where not around at the end, Snaggedline.com's leadership decided to donate their half of the proceeds to about $350 or more to go to the other benefactor of our event, Heroes on the Water, (the wounded Soldiers coming home from serving their country) and double the amount of work that we can do for thos folks. (that is when I lost it and got all emotional). Honest, I didn't mean to start crying but it happened and sorry for looking like a softy! That action alone just proves that this is the finiest group of men that I have ever been associated with!!! I've always known that the members of MKF and Snaggedline are the best bunch of guys on the water. That just solidified it. If anyone asked for help on anything, the guys on this forum respond, either by offering advice or by actually going in person and helping with the problem. I'm not sure if all of you know it or not but one of the Vendors at the Swap Meet, Mr Robert Mehl, who was at the far end of the hall from the entrance, DONATED 4 KAYAKS to Heroes on the Water for our effort to get the guys on the water!! If you ever go to another show and see him, be sure to thank him. He usually has a large grey trailer that he sells from and is always at the PSG event at Early Heights. The Kayaks I think are called Emotions and he gave us three 8ft sit in yaks and one 11.5 Fishing kayak rigged for fishing. This yak is valued at $750 alone. I'm not sure how I'm gonna use the smaller yaks but I'm sure we'll find a way.
We had over 250 shoppers come through the door and we were steadlily busy all day. The rod raffle was won by a Glen Burnie man whose last name was Dixon. I don't want to post the total on here but I will meet you all at the meet and greet and tell you all there the total that will be turned over to Heroes on the Water. I can tell you that it will be well over $600. This could not have been possible without the help of everyone here on this forum. I want to make our first outing with our Warriors sometime around May.
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN and there will be more to follow.
Thanks from a very humbled Medicyaker
