          1. Catch a tarpon on a fly rod. Check: 2 weeks ago in Puerto Rico

          2. Become a much better overall fisherman. To that end:

Learn to read the water better.

Learn to present lures more effectively.

Learn to "feel" the lure better -- particularly jigheads.

Become more efficient in the yak.

Become proficient with a fly rod from my yak on the Bay.

Channel Mr. Kimbro so that I can catch fish even when most people aren't.

Continue to teach my boys the joy of fishing.

          Yeah, that about covers it.

            Here's my simple list

            1. Catch one of the Catfish, or other large fish I missed on the Susky
            2. Learn more about tidal/bay fishing so I can have more success.
            3. Find more days when I don't have to cut a fishing trip short to go to work
            4. Catch a Muskie (may even settle for a big Northern Pike) when I go back to visit my folks this summer.

                    1. Keeper Tog
                    2. Snakehead caught via topwater, 20+ inches - still havent caught my first one yet either - DONE
                    3. Rockfish caught via topwater

Good idea on the thread RavensD.
I would like to add a 24in Flounder and a slot Redfish to the list of challenges this summer/fall.

Hey Mike - guess where I caught a 17 in weakfish over the holiday? A lot of 10/11 inchers too.

1/2" for each one except spot.

                      Catch a snakehead.

Break the 26" mark for striped bass.
Got my snakehead. I hope the topwater action or Bay Bridge action picks up. Those are probably my best bets at a striper over 26".

Really want to hook.......my kids into this kayak fishing thing.
                            Work on finding some patience.
Understanding what gear/tackle to take and leaving the kitchen sink @ home.
Putting my yak to the test in rougher water to gain confidence in my ride. (13' Ocean Kayak trident prowler)
Start collecting some crabbing gear for next year.
                            Pratice self rescues to profieciency.
                            EAT MORE FISH

                              I have some Lofty goals.

                              1. Learn as much as I can from you vets
                              2. Visit and fish more locations
                              3. Do some single float crabbing( tie chicken legs to a string and weight with a float).
                              4. Attend at least 3 meet and greets or a call-out.
                              5. Fish a tournament.
                              6. Fish Islamorada FL.Next Dec.

For me, one real goal......SPECS. 20= inch flounder would be nice too, but speckled trout have me confounded. At least Maryland specs.
And I did it!!! St Jeromes, Piney point and St Georges Island (though flounder still confounds me)
