He was a gracious host. I cannot express my thanks to him and his family for letting a bunch of fishy anglers using their house for a great cookout where we actually caught fish and crabs! Also, a special thanks to Memory Maker for bring beer (that I am unable to drink) and Kitkatyaker for bring the specialty beer, that I am unable to drink...LOL. You guys know what I mean. It was great seeing everyone old and new. Whoever, did not come to this cookout really missed out on a great time. Thanks again Metro for helping locating and catching the crabs. We had a lot left over.

Big thanks to nay-sayer and his wife!!! Great hospitality!!! It was great fishing with everyone. This was my first outting in the new Ride 115, first time in the bay, first striper (even though it was very small), and first white perch. In the words of Borat, "GREAT SUCCESS!!"

I also want to thank Naysayer and his spouse for the hospitality today! I met so many great new friends! I really had a blast and found out for the first time how fun kayaking can be... or at least just a little bit of that. I had lots of "firsts" today including trying out my new yak, fishing with my old lightweight tackle for the first time in over twenty years. Yup, my fishing line that I used today was at least 15 years old. I need to do something about that I guess. I probably learned a couple new things from each of you guys today! Thanks! I'm looking forward to the next group outing. I'd go tomorrow morning again but I got lots of things to do around the house tomorrow first. I might get out Monday as I'm off every other Monday; so if any of you guys have Mondays free let me know.

Here's two photos to prove we had fish and crabs today!!

Wanted to also thank Naysayer for being a gracious host AND he pointed me in the direction of the fish at 5:00 A.M. !!

Lots of fun with these on the light spinning rod and beetle spin:

Lost count on the number of these that intercepted a lure intended for a white perch:

Great day on the water. Always good to hang with a group of people who are passionate about their fishing.

John, sorry Mike and I never made it. We were stubborn and stayed on the water trying to catch some nice rock. Thanks for hosting the event though. I hope to make the next one!

Sorry John, I just saw your post from the 20th. I had family in town this weekend so I couldn't get away.
I'm still good for the 30th if you want to have a redeaux!

Major thanks to nay_sayer for putting this together and for having us over at his sweet place. Thanks to Langston for running the fryer, to Martin and Langston for cooking the the crabs, and to Don for providing the fryer. The post fishing party was a hoot, and I enjoyed meeting new fishing buddies and catching up with folks I haven't seen in a while.

It was by far the best day of perch fishing I've ever had and one of my top days of fishing this year. I think I only caught 2 or 3 perch under 10". All the rest were 10.5-12", and I lost count of how many I had in that size range. I even had a few wrap me up in pilings and break off, so maybe I even hooked into a 13-incher or two.

Now for pics... Unfortunately, I didn't get pics everyone on the water or at the party (sorry Matt and kitkatyaker, and nay_sayer was running around keeping us hydrated and fed), but here's a sample of what went on:

I've zipped up a bunch of pictures (in addition to the ones posted here) and will post a link as soon as it finishes uploading, which could be awhile. Anyway, it was an awesome day of fishing, food, and friends.

edit: Here's the link to the zip file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/uyc5f8...crabfeast2.zip

It's around 100MB, so it can take awhile to download.
