If you are the least bit concerned about waves and rough water, by all means, err on the side of caution and fish in sheltered coves, creeks, etc. There are good fish to be caught in these places, maybe not the larger stripers that habitually hang around the bridge, but school stripers, trout, redfish, spot, croaker and white perch- this is a catch and release charity fun event- let's have some fun- and remember weather is fickle- it changes all the time- winds are tough to accurately forecast- we may have a window of opportunity or maybe not-

I am new to the bay except for perching in sheltered coves. If anyone wants to hook up and fish sheltered spots give me a shout. I could use some schooling on what to do. Text me 443 838 six nine two two if your interested. Atleast we could make a newbie gang, if nothing else.
I'll have a gold frontier pickup, with wood truck rack and blue OC Prowler 15 on top. A yellow and white tent with green 12x12 covered shelter. I am ariving later on Friday as I have to go out until lunch beat down from feather friends before heading out to fish. I am sure at the Captain's Meeting we will have a better idea on the weather. Ron is right, there can be allot of good fish and variety in the coves and creeks. Remember the crabs at this time will not care about the weather, so bring your crab gear.... there are three crabbing prizes. Also, just for a hint, measure and take a picture of everything that you catch. There may be an unlisted category prize that you may qualify for....
Also, if the Bay Bridge is not an option to fish because of the weather, then that means a Schoolie Stripper may win the prize! Remember to bring cash for the raffles.... they are alway fun!

Don't panic. Kent Island has many creeks and sheltered areas of Eastern Bay. The best thing to do for now, particularly if you are not that familiar with the area, is to check out the DNR site for boat ramps under the boating tab of their web site. There are many boat ramps on the island. Simply, come in with a back-up plan. All tournament anglers should always do that sort of thing. Besides, it just for fun.

I think I read somewhere that you can purchase permits from a machine at the ramps. I feel like this would be accurate. Ramps probably wouldnt require you to leave and go to a different location to buy a day pass (if you didnt know before hand). I could be wrong.-Wilderness Systems Tarpon 160

I think it is best if you get it at Anglers on your way to the Captain's Meeting. I have been to the ramps at Romancoke and Matapeake before where the machine stopped working. Also, I am not 100% sure, but the day pass that you get from Anglers is good for all Queene Anne County Public Ramp. I think the ones out of the machine may be good only for that location. I think the Romancoke macine is good for both Romancoke and Matapeake. I have seen some or the other ramps do not have a machine to get the passes. So again, be safe and just stop by Anglers. Then you can use their pass to go to all the Queen Anne's Public Ramp on Kent Island.

Scratch that, I am staying home. With the rough water report and my lack of experience on the bay, I am going to stay home. Best of luck to all."If you can't have fun doing it, it ain't worth doing." ... or you're just doing it wrong.
