This has been the friendliest and most informative board I have ever participated in. Please follow Matt's advise and simply don't respond if you don't care to answer. we all know your prior issues with others taking "your" spot. The negativity is not necessary.

Do your thing and catch fish, you can't get mad at someone asking. You can just simply refrain from answering, or can say you prefer to not tell your spots. It's as simple as that, You don't need to stoop down to being a smart ass either. This is simply getting old at this point.

Your might not be on here to make friends, but I sure hope your not trying to make enemies..

All hot spots are dependent on tide and weather conditions- fish them at the wrong times and you would swear there are no fish there- that said- I normally don't give my hotspots up and I usually PM folks ahead of time to setup my fishing trips- after the fact I might post some pictures- When I fish places like PLO or Piney Point, there is a lot of water to fish, so giving a general location is not the same as giving up a "hotspot."

I would add that sometimes it gets as specific as lure, line, and rod combination. I've trolled through the same area with the same lure on different rods at the same time and had the fish favor one rod over the other. I've also fished amongst power boats and caught fish when they weren't. While I wouldn't go out of my way to post exactly where and how I'm fishing, it's more about few of being run over than it is fear of having the location overfished. Also, keep in mind that fish move from day to day. Yes, some spots are fairly consistent, but unless you are checking the board while you are out fishing, I'd say even a hotspot is a starting point at best.

i catch fish every single time i fish at this spot every year in october and september, the most keepers i have caught in a night there is 16. the biggest was 31. and the biggest bluefish was 29. i dont know if it is a hotspot, or just the river is a hotspot because i have only fished one part of the river.

Andrew ........ I've had your back when people said things ........ but now your acting like you need to be taken to the wood shed ......... you learn from people here and we learn from you ............ we share so should you .... answers like that make YOU the jerk .......

You're a great guy and I hope you continue to be that guy we've known ...... remember ..... the only 1 responsible for your behavior is you

Tony ......... I see that you share spots and info and that's great ........ but some catch alot and have their spots hi jacked by a ton of folks that look for their posts ........ obviously they get tired of it. If someone posts less than general info ...... try pm'ing them. I'm sure you would get more information than calling them out on a public forum or posting a smart ass comment.

After all it's about making and keeping Yakin friends. A general post is impersonal an PM is personal.

It had nothing to do with that, it had to do with how you reacted to someone asking you a question.... but whatever floats your boat... we already have 600 members that are non-active in posting join the club...

Well said and that applies to everything in life. Sorry if you feel that way Andrew but we must all choose our own paths.

I have fallen in love with Chesapeake Bay and its fisheries, I will be back as often as I can to take advantage of the great fishing it has to offer. Growing up in Texas taught me that a long drive for better fishing is usually always worth the time and gas. Thanks for the kind words and support!

Ditto on that Southerly. This is one of the best, if not the best fishing forums I've seen. It doesn't hurt that many of the posts are from where I like to launch such as Jonas or mid-Severn area. There are some real experts here that are very willing to share their knowledge. I appreciate that very much.

TidalFish has completely sold out as a commercial site; pop up ads everywhere, subscription fees, etc. I am not anti-capitalism per se, but I like the style here so much better, just guys who love to fish from kayaks sharing their knowledge with each other.

Hopefully Kayak 456 will cool off, I happen to like his Chesapeake reports.

                            Hey kayaktony,

You can't control the actions of others, what they do or say. Sometimes little things a person says or does will send us the wrong way. Don't close out your account just because of one persons remark. Does this one remark out weigh the other helpful and informative posts that you have given/received? I haven't been around as long as you have on here, but I would merely form my own opinion and move on. Leaving the forum would kind of say that is how you see us all, EVEN though you don't. Blow it off and go fishing. Post some pics.

Hope to see you around sometime....

Calm down everyone. If someone doesn't want to share some particular information, that's cool. Look at what kayak456 has done so far -- 402 posts since May 2011. That's pretty darn good in my book. He's done his fair share. Let's keep this forum the most informative and friendly one as it used to be.

Andrew ............... ya wanna leave then that's up to you ....... ya wanna stay then great .... a lot of guys like ya ...... at least the Andrew we knew before the latest behavior

As I said, You're a great guy and I hope you continue to be that guy we've known ........

Your logic amazes me though .......... ya DON"T post on Tidalfish that guys are stealing your spots after you post ....... and they are the guys jumping your spots in the motor boats and then you come on here and complain but get lessons instead of sympathy. Then you continue to post pictures on Tidalfish with landmarks in the background and insult the guys here ......... and now you want to take your ball and go home .........

Guess ya didn't want to take the beating those Tidalfish guys would have given ya if ya made that post ........ no one would have your back there ........ Ya say the things on Tidalfish that you said here and you would REALLY have some nasty postings .............
