i post on tidal fish because i like to share what i catch. people take my spot or or ask for to much detail and i don't like it. i have no behavior issues or anger, i used to post in great detail until all of the sudden people started taking advantage of me. "the old me" is still me, i just dont post in such detail anymore, and when "kayaktony" asked me "where are you fishing", i replied"Chesapeake bay". i was not being rude, just simply hinting at the point that i dont want to tell you where im fishing. i am not mad at anyone on kayaks who fishes so close, im mad at the responses i get when i said that the boats get so close. people said things like im "embarrassed for you", and "quit crying". i am not mad at any kayakers because of what they did, im mad because of what they said, and for that reason im not posting anymore. but seriously how do you delete any account?

Andrew, come on man. I thought the Chesapeake Bay comment was quite cunning. I learned something. Hell, I didn't even know there also was a Chesapeake Bay in China! Opinions are like a#@holes, everyone has one. The beauty of the situation is, it is up to you which ones you take seriously. Remember, sometimes no response is the best response. You do not need to respond to everything that is written. Just remember old buddy, you can tell me your fishing hot spots. Just kidding of course.

Also, he did post on TidalFish that people were stealing his spots. I like this site and I also like TidalFish, but the ads are not bad if you have an account and you dont have to pay subscription fees to become a member.36 Ricky Scarborough custom Carolina sportfish

It really gets you're goat when you're a giver ........ a person that likes to share and people that you don't know and don't even have the courtesy of saying hi or introducing themselves take advantage of your sharing nature .....trust me I know .... but that's how the world is ......... more users than sharers ......... nothin wrong with sharing ........ just gotta be careful of what you share and who you share it with ............doesn't have to be all or nothing ..........

If the person is going to be a jerk and go at ya then he will look like the a-hole and you will look like the better man and I'm sure he will get the comments ......... It's a learning process and everyone is still learning especially me.

@kayak456: I like your South River reports when they are in the right place, ie- pier reports in the general forum, etc. Your successful reports are just another piece of the puzzle to be plugged into the equation as we all try to figure out our common passion. Andrew catches fish in South today, while I bit the skunk in the Severn...what did he try that I could have done...etc, etc...it goes like that, and everyone learns. But if you open your mouth and a bit of nasty frustration slips out, then people get grumpy and start threads like this and we end up having a big group therapy session instead of talking about fishing. Less fun.

Hey kayak Tony,
Many of us post info about our spots and even include pics.......I have never withheld a spot until my recent trout spot. It is just one of those spots that has to be kept tight or the good times will be over-----a rare event, but one out of 30-50 posts isn't bad. Ictalus, Moc, Ronault, John Veil, Chexone, Tufnik, comeonfish and many more share LOTS of info on this forum and you can certainly PM me anytime. I---and most of us--- don't post to brag or show off. It's part of the brotherhood of yak fishers. We want more folks to share the good times with and , more importantly, more folks to enjoy what we enjoy. The sport growing is good for all of us in the end......something a few haven't figured out yet. Keep watching the forum, you'll see.14.5 ft Sand colored Malibu X-Factor "the promise"

There is usually a group effort to setup fishing trips- I know I usually invite four or so folks I normally fish with on private messages to them setting up a fishing trip- sometimes we hit; sometimes we miss (pretty rare)- one factor I consider is always powerboat traffic- I avoid some "hotspots" strictly for that reason- last year Bill and I were striper fishing the main channel Potomac off Piney Point and weaving in and out of the charter boats in 80 feet of water. Many times I had to maneuver out of my trolling line just to avoid getting run over- 90% of power boat operators are great folks and are willing to share the road with kayakers who pay attention and try to get along- but I heard several comments about us being out where we did not belong- and it really seemed to bother some when we landed a big fish- so it pays to read the forum, establish yourself as a fisherman and get a trip or two under your belt- most anyone here is willing to take you on a trip with them if you are available when they are going- we routinely have "meet and greet" events where the entire forum is invited to meet at a fishing location. Those are the very best way to get acquainted and make new fishing buddies-"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

That's pretty darn good in my book. He's done his fair share. Let's keep this forum the most informative and friendly one as it used to be.
This is probably the best advice anyone could provide. Take a post for what it is, nothing more or nothing less.
Ron: I must agree with your comments. Some boaters will slow down when they pass and be very nice about everything. Other boaters will go by close, full bore and the operator will look back to see what affect the wake has had on the kayak. Remember, no matter where they are, when in a boat an operator is responsible for their wake.

We, as kayak fisherman, should strive to be better than that. We don't need to pollute the forum with anger and drama. Keep it clean and mature or take it to PMs, its as simple as that.36 Ricky Scarborough custom Carolina sportfish
