I plan to be there, weather permitting.
7:00 launch,
I think max current is at 8:30am and hi tide is 10:00am.
I still have a lot to learn about current and tides. So please let me know if I got the tide and current wrong. Also, your thoughts on the best fishing in reference to tides and currents.

[DOGFISH]

A moving current is always best, no matter what. Depending on where to fish is a matter of what tide you are working. Such as, an incomming tide, I would fish the inside edges of the drops, points and ledges, as these will be the ambush points for the larger fish. An outgoing tide will be just the opposite. As of late it seems as if the rockfish are just moving around the mouth of the river like little hordes of barbarians, just pillaging the schools of bait fish. The bait fish move as they are being driven and thus goes the gamefish. Schools of rockfish can move quite a distance in the pursuit of the bait. If the birds are not working the school, it can sometimes be difficult to keep on the school. That is when the game is afoot.
