  • Greetings from Odenton

Hi All. I am new to kayaking and a novice fisherman to boot! I did order my kayak over the weekend though and will be on the water this spring (NuCanoe Frontier 12). I previously owned a 30' sailboat and am looking forward to being back on the water this year, albeit in a much lower maintenance boat I still have a couple outfitting decisions to make and will have many questions as I get started. I am grateful to find a local forum!

Welcome. Outfitting the kayak is a lot of fun, a ton of accessories out there and a lot of documentation/videos to help making choices.

Hello Nitefly, I am new here as well and I work in Odenton. The ponds and Lake Allen on North Tract might be a good place to get in some "from shore fishing" time while you wait for your NuCanoe. Here is a good place for all things kayak fishing. http://www.kayakbassfishing.com/

Gill... I tried Pax river down by Governor Bridge road two weeks ago. No dice. Have you had any luck in North Tract this spring? I might get out this weekend.
