We saw the wind forecast and made a last minute re-direct. Sorry Rick!!! We decided that since we wouldn't be able to fish the CBBT or Kipto we'd bag it and save the money/time for a trip later this winter.

Went kayaking last night though, it's freaking dark out there right now! I remember to bring a better spotting light for finding the launch! I hope this wind dies down soon.
      Used to fish more.

I was tog fishing at OC on Saturday morning and wondering if you guys rolled the dice on the CBBT trip. Its was cold and the wind was ruthless there on the rt50 bridge.

Id imagine it would be worse at the mouth of the bay with the NNW wind direction

Yeah ........ I went but Mike had more sense and stayed north ......... I had to get there this weekend anyway to winterize and cover everything and do what I could to keep the mice out ........... glad to see there wasn't any evidence that they were in there yet and I made it as unfriendly for them as I could ......

The winds Saturday were 20+ but it was doable with the waves less than 6 inches in front of Cherrystone with the sandbar about 1/2 mile out and the mainland hook about 1/2 mile north but the temps seem to be around 40 ..... could see the breakers on the bar ......... I would have done it if there was someone else there but I'm still new to this and I want someone around incase I get into trouble ......... was tempting though because we were catching schoolie stripers to 20+ inches and a few trout off of the piers ....... they were following bait ....... when you saw the bait you fished and caught

THe winds layed down @ 8 Sat night and I thought is would have been good on Sunday ........... that thought quickly went away when I woke up to the howling whistle of winds 25 to well over 30 in gusts and 1-2 ft whitecapes about 10 ft apart ......... breakers on the bar were large and the tide was very high .......1-2 ft waves splashing over the pier ......

I still could have fished the creek between Cherrystone and the Condo's @ Cape Charles ........ channel is about 8+ ft and a nice back bay area that should have had the fish but the temps were even colder so I winterized the trailer in case I didn't make it down again this year and headed home with a bushel of oysters for me and 1/2 bushel for Redfish 12

Good thing about Eastern SHore VA .......... there's always a place to fish even with the winds ..........

Well didn't take the PA out of the truck .......... but I was looking good anyway ....... The PA sticking out of that Truck is awesome ..........

Now I just have to use the dang thing ........
