lol...I've heard of livers working...but I've always avoided using them since you have to do extra steps to keep it on the hook.

image.jpgHow far is waysons from the WW bridge?
Russ, belle haven isn't too far of a paddle from the bridge. Navionics app says 1.3 miles. I didn't look at the ramp area, but I'm sure it'll work. The dock at the bridge is about 2 feet above the water.Last edited by echo5oscar; 03-27-2013, 12:33 PM.

I have not tried other parts but anything that smells bad is good catfish bait. I here beef liver is good but haven't tried it myself yet.Jim

My wife is off work for spring break and I think she might have an issue with me if I took off work and spent the day with you guys instead of her. Women can be funny like that sometimes.
Good luck out there.Jim

Not a complete rookie here but close enough. I have fished the upper Potomac countless times but never down that far south. I am very familiar with that area as I have spent plenty time fishing for beer at The Fish Market there in Old Town Alex. Love cat fishing but the upper Potomac only produces cats to a certain size and would love to try my luck at hooking something with some girth. What type of kayaks do you guys have to fish this area? I have a 10' sit in fishing kayak but always thought that it was too small for that area of the Potomac. It's great for where I fish on a regular basis but not sure about down there. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

sign me up
Shady and co.,
happy birthday!
I'll have Friday off too, and it's likely I could make it down to the bridge for some cats at least for the morning. I (shamefully...i know) have to grab my fishing yak tomorrow after work and take the metaphorical shrink wrap off for the year. I haven't finished switching over my FF and gear over to that one yet, so I'll be bare-bones fishing with 1 rod and no electronics in all likelihood.
