The action wasn't as hot as yesterday, but consistent nonetheless. I caught maybe 10 or so blue cats, high teens to low 20s. I also pulled up a spinning combo (rod & reel) off the bottom of the river. It was a cheap 7' combo...I threw it in the trash. I'll let the other guys chime in on their catch.

I used boneless chicken thigh. Great bait... they like it and it stays on the hook forever.

And to think of all the crazy looks I got when I first started telling people I use chicken for catfish bait.

I'm a dark meat kinda guy myself!

Looks like a great time....not as much fun as crawling around in 60 year old attic insulation today....but a fun time none the least. Good to see fish catching fish, had a good time with him at the susky M&G

I heard it first from you, and I may have been one who gave you a crazy look, but now I'm sold on chicken for cats. Caught 16 today, up to 29", and most of them on the same piece of chicken. I just did a bit of research, wondering if there would be a difference between dark (thigh) and white (breast) meat, and found this:

"A hundred grams of skinless (roasted) chicken thigh, about 3 1/2 ounces, contains 209 calories and has 10.9 grams of fat. Compare that with the same amount of skinless (roasted) chicken breast at 165 calories and 3.57 grams of fat. In terms of saturated fat, that amount of thigh meat contains 2 grams more than the breast – 3 grams instead of 1 gram."

The fattier thigh may contain more cat attractant than the breast.

After you guys left the bite dropped off, well maybe it was because I was concentrating more on trying to catch a nice one on my baby rod but kept missing. I ended up catching 20 or so cats with the biggest at 25.5" I left at about 11:30. I caught half of mine on chicken and half on goose liver. Glad everyone could make it out, and everyone caught lots of fish, fun times! Here's a few
