I have a prior commitment in the morning....but hoping to get everything done early and get out for an afternoon. No time frame. I know mdmakaira is probably going to get out there earlier....I was hoping to meet up in the PM.
Stingsilvers is what I have had the most success with. I also bought a shimano butterfly jig....gonna give that a try. And a couple different BKD's.

Don,
The rack is on, uneven. and probably unstable, but it will get me through the weekend until i get the stretch kit for it. Unfortunately im not gonna be able to get out there early, christmas b.s.. Im shooting for 1030 at the earliest. Im going to run by anglers on the way down and reload on some metals. They have a really good selection. Fisherkid and i are probably going to stay down around the annapolis area and try for some rainy rockfish somewhere sunday and again monday if we can find somewhere outa the wind.Link to fishing vid, oldie but goodie.http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...4894489669049#

I'll probably will be out about 8:00, so if you see my P/U on the parking lot, I am already out there. Most likely I will go towards the mouth of the river or towards the old Manressa building. It looks like an old mansion. There are the remnants of an old railway bridge, piling stumps, down there, which may hold fish. Looks like the wind and the weather should be OK.
Anybody else wanting to join in, please do. Looks like a good day. Looks like fun. 8:00ish should be a good time. Jigging seems to be the way to go. Stingsilvers seem to be the hot lure, in gold and silver, without feathers. I have a few, with some gold Crippled Herring jigs. I am also going to try some drop shot type setups or jig and bucktail. Live bait may also be an option. There should be some fish there. Keep in mind that Chimo had luck in this same area last weekend with gold butterfly jigs.
MD410, just make sure you use a bow and stern line on the rooftop. That tends to hold the whole thing together, even when shakey.
As far as tackle shops, Anglers is open early. They are towards the Bay Bridge. Jonas Green Park is just a short distance back towards Annapolis on Rt 2.
See you Saturday.

I have never fished in the rivers there before. So I'll have to wing it and maybe bump into one of you guys on the water.
I guess I plan to head out toward the bay looking for deep water.2015 Hobie Outback (yellow)

Tufnik:
Do you know where Jonas Green park is at. If not, take the Ritchie Hwy exit off of Rt 50 towards Annapolis and the WW II Memorial. Just before you cross the bridge, the park is to your right. Easy to find. You will need some type of vertical jigs. All you will need to do is find some deep spots or drop offs. If the fish are there, then thats the spot. You can also go to that web address I gave you for the NOAA maps. The Severn River is on that chart, #12270. You can check out some of the bottom structure.
See you tomorrow. I have to start early and leave early, due to working.

Thanks Dogfish for organizing this month. That is a real nice area for parking and launching. I arrived and was on the water about 10:00. Water temps were 37 to 39 degrees. No wind was nice and 40 something air. It was a nice day on the water. I headed toward the bay, got to the mouth of the river and started back. I could not find any large schools. Only single fish every now and then. Tried Stingsilver, Bass assasin on lead jig head and some soft plastic. Jigging when I saw a fish on the FF. I believe I missed one strike and caught nothing. I saw about 4 other kayakers before leaving at 2:30. Thanks again for recommending a nice location on a nice day.

I did swing by Jonas Green, but I launched at the Naval Support Activity marina boat ramp (don't like the concrete surface).
Anyway, hit the water about 1130. Found out my suction cup transducer doesn't stick to the bottom of the hull (too cold!?!). Jigged a little while about 200 yds south of the three radio towers, then I went out to the bay. A few marks here and there. I trolled rat-l-trap and kastmaster, jigged a bucktail and stingsilver, and bottom fished with frozen spot to as deep as 40 feet, but no nibbles/bites.
I didn't see any other kayakers, just sailboats and a few rigged boats. I think the kayakers were up the river. I went out to the bay short of 2 miles and drifted south. Water was fairly calm. There was a light breeze out there. I had hot chocolate, but my toes and especially fingers were still cold. I quit after five hours.2015 Hobie Outback (yellow)

Sorry I couldn't make it this morning. I felt bad about getting things going and then bailing out. The entire inside of the plug that goes to my electric motor burned out. I guess some water got in there and shorted things out. I think I have figured out the fittings and hose to make it waterproof and flexible. This time it is really going to be water proof.
I know about not finding fish. I didn't find anything on the South River, Friday afternoon. I wanted to get some practice jigging, but no luck. I didn't even wet a line. The water cooled fast, 36 degrees. That was down from 42 last week. Aside from my motor plug, it was fun going out in that sort of weather. Reminded me of my duck and goose hunting days. Now they were some cold days afield. Again, sorry for not being there this morning. I hope someone got some fish. I'll be interested if MD410 and FisherKid catch anthing at Brandon Shores. It may take some warm power plant water to find fish.
I am on to my winter projects now. Good Luck.

We didnt fish brandon shores we fished the severn saturday. Like everyone said it was dead . we fished both the old and new severn river bridges and didnt mark a single thing. We stuck it out till after dark as it was pretty nice out there and continuted to fish the old bridge under the lights. Fisher kid had a tiny dink on for a couple minutes before it ditched the hook at the boat. There is a ton of stuff to get snagged on under the old bridge and we both lost a bunch of jigs. In retrospect we should have gone to the bridge again. I heard that a bunch of 24'' to 28'' fish were being caught at the rockpiles. We may try out brandon shores next weekend if the weather is ok.Link to fishing vid, oldie but goodie.http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...4894489669049#
