I have a question for you guys. Obviously the floating rods/ rod floats help for accidentally we'll call it "dropping" the rod over board and allowing the rig to float by itself, but would they actually help if a fish took the rod as many have posted has happened to them? Also, Doc do you mind posting a picture of one of your rods and what floats you use?

I understand loosing a rod that is not secured if you were to turtle, but it sounds like people are loosing rods on a regular basis by simply dropping them or having a fish pull them overboard. To me that is not so much a leash problem as much as it is operator error.

Here's a review of the overboard rods. I'd have to fish one for a day before I committed to buying one. The extra diameter on the butt section might drive me nuts. http://www.yakangler.com/fishing-gea...rd-rods-review

I found this video on how to make your own rod lease, I thought some might be interested in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xa4zaDAO0Y or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltC7lue2Mx0

I think it's a pretty decent lease and doesn't cost that much, I wish he talks more about how to make the strap and where to buy material for the straps.
