    Also where are you going to store it. The weight is an issue depending how you are transporting and launching, type of seating, your size, what you are planning to carry, are all considerations. You should try to keep about 70% of rated capacity of yak between you and gear. Best idea, as already stated, is to try the kayak first. As stated in another thread, maybe getting a used one first to really see what you want, like, and need may not be a bad idea. Because the first kayak normally is not your last as you find what you like as far as features.
