        My goals:

        1) Wander the shores of Curacao (going end of Feb) and catch anything on my own
        2) Flats trip and catch stripers on the fly rod (not putting a target size on 'em but I do mean striperS as in plural )
        3) Catch a snakehead
        4) Chesapeake Bay sleigh ride. Big striper preferred but a cow nose ray will work!

Surf, "Foley" Creek?!?! I gotta fish there! Just say when.

Bob, Great looking pup. Enjoy raising him. I'm sure he'll be a terrific companion!

I tried to find Foley Creek but found Folly Creek down near Accomac Va, so is the April M&G getting moved from the 2nd saturday to the last saturday? The next weekend May 7th, we were supposed to have the May M&G so we could go to Jamica Bay on the 13th? That would be three weekends in a row?

sorry brian my spelling was off its folly creek landing, google that and it comes right up then go to the trail map to look at the other launch sites. some of the ones closer to exmore va might be better.

we can leave the april m&g the same and this as an extra, then the may m&g be J bay that should break it up some.

Goals are simple, fish every opportunity that I can, catch what I can in as many differnt ways as possible and to explore as many new areas as I can. Between work and 3 kids, two in travel sports the opportunities arent as often as they once were. Oh, and I like the idea of a fish every month of the year, even if not from the Yak. Gunpowder on Sunday anyone...or Morgan Run?

Topwater stripers pretty easy in Kent Narrows, just throw a plug in and through all of the rocks out at the Jetty on first or last light. Usually at least one shows.

                  This year:

                  1) Catch a rock on a popper- not a surface plug, a subsurface walk the dog, or the dropper on a popper.... but actual topwater.

                  2) Catch a 30" rock on the fly

                  3) Catch a snakehead

I have other goals and areas of my tactics I'd like to improve but these are the main goals I hope to achieve. I also plan on spending a lot more time vertical jigging as well as hunting other species besides rock when they are in town.
So far I have taken care of 1 and 3, need to post the picture of 1.

Seems like I need to break out the fly rod...

See, I told you it was possible. Did you try throwing a diving lure afterwards to see if you caught more fish on the diver vs. the popper?

Here are some of the goals I set at the beginning of the year and my progress:

Fish as many different spots as possible: I'm up to 17 so far
Catch as many different species as possible: I'm up to 29 so far (not all on kayak)
Catch a Striper over 30": My biggest this year is only 26" caught in February. Hopefully I'll accomplish this goal this fall.
Catch a keeper Flounder: caught an 18" Founder at the CBBT in July
Catch a snakehead: I tried once in July and got skunked, maybe I'll try again soon...
Catch citation sized anything: 13" White Perch in the Severn in June.

                        Some recent additions:

Fish the HRBT lightline again: Fished it last November.
Fish Kiptopeake Concrete ships: Hopefully soon...
Catch a keeper Speck: Have not tried yet, maybe soon

I went back to the ol' trusty tandem of a fluke and a fly combo. I caught many more on that than the topwater, even had a double that night. This place has a Lott current so poppers are tough

Very cool. Is the fluke weighted? I'll have to give that a shot.

Bill, I was reading back over this... Fluke has a weighted shank and it sort of wobbles in the current, works really well.

I've caught a lot more on top water since last year and this past weekend at the flats I had a hookup that smashed my spook. Cracked it right down the middle... I'm pretty much hooked on top water now
                              Used to fish more.

Cool. I bought a bunch of those hooks for bass and snakeheads. I'll have to give it a try at my topwater spots this year. I hope last year was an exception and they'll all be productive again this year.
