Count me in as well. This place has quite an interesting history that I can talk to: Indian attacks, ship wrecks, prison camps etc.. In the 70s this was a hotspot for amateur divers hunting Civil War artifacts. Sounds like it will be a good time.
Costs to get in: October through April -- $3.00 per vehicle for Maryland resident -- $5.00 per vehicle for non-Maryland resident
The boat launch is $10 for local $12 for out of state but right now much of it is under construction. Maybe we can just use the beach to launch and land our kayaks?Last edited by khobombed; 10-26-2013, 12:01 AM.

khobombed has the fees right, $10 for MD residents and $12 for out of state to use the boat launch area. While there is indeed construction going on at the ramps, it is not closed for use. If you would like to launch from the pet beach area or the camp store launch, the fee is $3 for a MD resident and $5 for a out of state vehicle. The tollbooth is closed this time of year, but that doesn't mean the park is free, there are honor system boxes at the tollbooth, the causeway and the boat launch. I know having to pay to use the park can be annoying, but those fees help the park out tremendously! Thanks guys!Fishing adds years to your life, and life to your years.

I purchased DNR's annual state park pass. I assume that covers the entry into the park. Does it also cover the launch fee?

Your Annual Park Pass does in fact give you free usage of the boat launch. The pass is a steal if you plan on launching from a state park more than 7 times, especially since they work at all MD state parks.

I think you need to plan on doing both. I set up to troll but keep my jigging rod handy since breakers can appear any time. Lots of places to cast or jig at the obvious points marked on the map.14.5 ft Sand colored Malibu X-Factor "the promise"

You'll see it on the right just before you get to the boat ramps. I've used it before with no problems. The beach is about 150 feet from the parking lot.2018 Hobie Outback (seagrass)

You're right in that there is a launch right next to the Camp Store that is great for kayaks, but you still have to pay the park entrance fee to use it. I hope there is no confusion!Fishing adds years to your life, and life to your years.

I meant that there's no additional fee like the $10 for the boat ramp. Right?14.5 ft Sand colored Malibu X-Factor "the promise"
