Light to medium fishing gear is perfect. I like to use braid because of the sensitivity. With the depths we are fishing, you really have to pay attention and prepare for the slightest little taps...the braid really helps. Between my braid and whatever rig I am using, I like to add a piece of 6-8lb mono/fluoro to act as a break off section. Around the floating docks are cables that you can easily snag at 50 FOW...you can quickly lose all the line on your spool with a few breaks offs. I use reels in the 2500-3500 series range just because they can hold more braid. Light to medium rods are fine, enough to support the weight you are dropping down. A catfish rod is not necessary, but if you want to break one in...by all means. In this area of the river and the temps the channel cats don't usually get too large, 3 or 4 are typically caught during the meet and greet.Originally posted by daolai View PostCount me in for fishing and maybe for lunch. Any advice on the gear to use? I assume light spinning gear and maybe a catfish rod?2015 OLIVE HOBIE OUTBACK
