+me for suggesting to wait before installing anything permanently until you have paddled around a bit. Attached is a YOUTUBE link to making a temporary/removable anchor trolley (no drill). I did this and continue to use it, works like a charm, havent seen the need to do anything permanent.
    Enjoy - Wayne

I made an even simpler removable anchor trolley. I involves three carabiners, an 18" piece of stretchy cord, and a longer piece of cord. I cut the stretchy cord into two equal lengths. I tied one around the side handle of the kayak and another around the rear handle of the kayak. I placed a carabiner on each of the circles of stretchy cord.

        026.jpg 027.jpg

Then I ran a piece of cord through both of those carabiners and tied one end to a third carabiner. I tied a small loop in the other end of the cord. I slide the loop into the carabiner attached to the line to make the trolley.

        025.jpg

I have a loop tied at various distances on my anchor line. Depending on my depth, I can let out the appropriate amount of anchor line and clip that loop onto the carabiner.

        028.jpg

On the few days I choose to use my anchor, I can rig the trolley in less than 1 minute. On all other trips, I don't have the excess cord laying on the side of the kayak, thereby avoiding another line that could tangle with one of my hooks. If I used an anchor on most or many trips, I would not hesitate to install a permanent trolley system.

The total cost ~ $3 for the carabiners. I already had the stretchy cord and longer cord in the garage.

I heard taking a plunge is not a matter of "if" but "when"
