    I pulled the fish out of it's mouth...a full size shad (or similar fish). That fish must have been hungry

    Now that is biting off more than you can chew. Did you find it floating dead like that?

      a few years ago i found pretty much the same thing, a 20 something inch rockfish tried to swallow a roughly 16" rockfish. they were just flapping on the surface. netted it and pulled them apart. swam away safely. wish i could find the picture

        Yah, we found it like that. At first I thought there was a chance to save it, I was probably several hours too late.
