August Meet and Greet...St. Mary's River @ Dennis Point Marina

Lazy afternoon out of Dennis Point marina today. Perch, Croaker, lightning fast breaking bluefish, a few breaking rockfish off windmill point......and pristine water. Best yet, only saw one cownosed ray and it was in non fishy area!!!
It should be a good meet and greet...any more takers?

Ok, I there is some of the same crew that was at the July M&G that is going. It was a good time. I have never fished that particular location before, so Count me in for Fishing and Lunch.

BTW, what lures were you using for the bluefish....?

I was fishing for perch when they would rush through so i cast what ever I had on the line! Power grub mostly. I also chased them around futilely at dusk. They and the bait were moving so fast I couldn't catch up...they were mostly chasing some kind of non bunker baitfish...maybe silversides. They were not as interested in the peanut bunker that were there in abundance. I also accomplished an amazing feat, Moc, I caught a live oyster on a top water plug!!....long story.

Also, the rumor at the launch yesterday was that they had seen snakeheads up the creek that the marina is on....interesting.

I can't commit either. We're planning to visit my parents in Missouri leaving on the 29th, not sure if we'll be back. If I'm here, I'll be there.
