I kept the stock fins on my outback too but felt it was a little slow. I now have the pa12 with turbos and it's a lot faster than the outback was. Probably should have tried the turbos on the outback but was worried about the extra length in some of the shallow areas I fish. I learned real quick to be careful with the turbos. Bent the shaft on my 1st trip to mariner point.

I also noticed the price increase recently. Other than color, are the blue turbo fins really going to be any different from the older ones?

I asked Dennis at Backyard Boats if the new blue fins were different, aside from being blue. He said the difference in the fins was color only.

Not entirely true. The shape of the new fins have changed. The ST fins that come with the new OB are the (square) shape of the turbos, not the rounded/pointed shape of the 2014 and prior model years standard fins.

I am about to order the performance package. ACK has it for $14 more than the current price on the turbo fins alone. I was about to order it a couple weeks back for $129, but could not figure out if the new turbo fins were any different.

It is not a factory option. It is an available part that will fit the OB. SittinDuck and Coop have already installed fitted it into their OB's. Here is the thread. I am not sure the implications it would have on your warranty, so I'd check with the dealer, or ask them to install it if you feel uncomfortable doing so yourself.

I had a dream last night that I bought a new Outback and I brought it home still in the shrink wrap. I got home and pulled off the wrap and the entire kayak was made of Styrofoam... What does this mean?

There have been three sets of fins for a while, Standard, ST and Turbo. The ST and Turbo have been an upgrade, now the ST are stock for the non-PA Mirage kayaks. I don't think the new ST or Turbo fins are any different than previous versions, other than the color.

My dealer told me that my 2015 Outback has been shipped as of yesterday and I should have it next week..... Only bummer is I have another eye surgery on Oct 2 and will be unable to see well for how long I do not know.... but maybe I will be able to see better this time....

Turning out to be a really long wait. Just picked up some turbo fins and a large rudder this weekend, but still no yak to put them on yet.

That's crazy I had the same exact dream about my 2014 before I bought it but I love my kayak now so I wouldn't read too much into it. Lol what a coincidence......... or is it?😳
