Hit the Severn after catching all shorts yesterday down at Greenbury Point. Got out about 1PM with the tide pretty slack but just starting to turn around. Went the other way today and fished over an oyster bar. All fish were caught in 4-6' of water near edges. The action was fairly steady for a hour or so with five fish caught as I made loops trolling through the same area. All were caught on the same color 6" paddletail you can see in the picture of the first fish. The biggest was right around 20" (Ignore the picture, He wasn't quite all the way touching the HawgTrough) and was caught first with all the rest coming in short. Seemed to slow down after an hour or so. I put in about another hour in the same area with no takers. Trolling back to the launch was also unproductive.
YES YES YES!! FINALLY! A keeper out of the kayak after a few years of a bunch between 17" and 17 15/16. I was beginning to think all rock were that size. It's in the oven now.
