I put the kayak in at first Light. The weather was saying that the barometer was on a short rise before the approaching low coming that evening. Overcast skies and No wind was going to be perfect for finding feeding fish.
Once the sun came up It was on. There were Striped bass and birds feeding all scattered over the creek. At first I was so excited that I would try to run from blitz to blitz, but blitzes were so small and scattered the fish were gone before I got there. So I had to calm myself down and act like Ive been there done that type of thinking. I sat back and watched the pattern of feeding fish and realized that no matter were you were located in the creek the fish were pushing the bait up from 10ft of water to around 3-5ft flats. If you know the creek and know were the flats are you would see fish feeding along the flats. No blitzes were in deep water. So I just sat in one spot and waited for the blitzes to form around me as you will see in the video.
I must apologize for the poor production quality of the video. I didn't check my camera settings(which I usually do ) and could not use a lot of the footage which showed some great strikes. But on a lighter note the first fish I caught had a strong will to survive, as you will see.
I try to show my lures and techniques and I hope you guys get something from this and not just a guy catching a bunch of fish. Oh By the way most of the fish were 18 inches or better. It was like they were carbon copied or I was catching the same fish.
