I am happy to report that I never had bluefish near my crotch. However, last winter I had a 20" pickerel laying in my lap while in the kayak. It took me a few seconds to realize that there was a mouthful of teeth an inch or so from highly sensitive tissue. The fish was quickly relocated before any damage was caused.
I now carry a small Boga Grip imitation (bought from Herbs Tackle shop in North East, MD for only $10 last winter). That allows me a way to control the fish for measuring or photographing.John Veil
