You don't think the massive amount of rainwater about to dump into the bay is going to push them south towards saltier water?

Hard to predict the effects...figure there are billions of gallons of daily flow coming into and out of the tidal waters of the bay...I am sure the salanity levels of the middle bay will take a big drop, but will our southern Maryland waters drop enough to run the salt water species off? Might slow it down, but a lot depends on the path and duration of Hurricane Florence...if it stays south and stalls as predicted we will get some of the fringe effects, but NC and Virginia will get the lion’s share of devastation...the mountains and Piedmont areas will catch holy hell...if it comes further north, we will...too early to tell...

We will have a lot of on shore flow due to wind too. That may help to push oceanic salty water into the mouth of the bay
