That’s bizarre- why 5 for drum? Doesn’t even line up with VA Regs (3).

not confused. the proposed regulations are open to public comment until June 8. "With the submission of the proposal, AELR will now conduct a fiscal and legal review. If approved, the regulations will be published in the Maryland Register May 8, and another public comment period will be open from May 8 until June 8, 2020." Regulations cannot go into effect until the end of the public comment period. I realized DNR published this notice at https://dnr.maryland.gov/fisheries/D...ive5-16-20.pdf, however, the proposed rule is still under review. All this really doesn't matter to me because I will be lucky to catch one striper that is legal to keep, and if I did catch two, I would only keep one anyway. But, to be fair, I will reach out to DNR to get clarification next week.

This will be my second year in a row that I will not harvest any Striped Bass- all C&R for me again this year...just finished up the last fresh White Perch filets I caught this week...a dozen beauties..kept nine...I don’t fault anyone who kills a Legal striped bass and eats it. I simply choose not to, regardless of the DNR confusing and convoluted Regulations. IMO white perch are much better tasting fish for the table and are not an endangered species. I enjoy catching and releasing Stripers, especially using top water lures."Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS
