Been a long day. Launched and fished the St. Mary's River this morning around 6 to fish the sunrise and the falling tide. Not much to report, lots of grass and a few dink rockfish and some perch. I had some paddle tails and a Capt Bert's Perch Hounder out. Tough morning, got off the water around 10ish. Not much traffic or wind when we started, that changed as the morning went on. Several rec kayakers and power boats made their appearance. Went and took care of some chores during the tide shift. Back out at 530 PM, this time launched more towards the mouth of the St. Mary's/St. George from private property. Only fish landed were decent sized perch. Filled the stringer. Action of note was losing two 4" paddle tails to chompers of some sort at two different points towards and at sunset. My buddy was running a pearl/chartreuse tailed Gulp and I had a pink/clear glitter Bass Assassin. Both bit offs took 2/3 of the plastics. Clean bite off, so blue or macs? Only other item of note was this 1966 "Fishing in Maryland" that was given to me this week. I found it to be an interesting time capsule and in remarkably good condition. It was found in a house that is scheduled for demolition in Scotland, down by Point Lookout State Park. Note the sweet maps and centerfold. Plus an article by Lefty Kreh! Tight lines and stay safe
