This is definately a "paddle yak" kind of place- more so than Mattawoman creek- turbo fins are in danger here, so many underwater obstructions to hit with a Hobie Mirage Drive- the snakeheads don't get the same kind of pressure they get in Mattawoman with the night time archery light boats running generators, so it is a place you can catch some big snakeheads, but be aware there are so many snags that I would recommend pretty heavy tackle to horse them out of the tangles-

      Beautiful pictures!!

When I went last year, I did some historical research on the place and it's "ghost fleet". Amazingly enough, the most interesting site I came across was a scale modelling forum that had details on the exact type of ships scuttled there...plus actual news pics from when their remains were set on fire after they had salvaged all they could from them. Pretty neat stuff. http://www.thercmodelboatforum.com/t...of-mallows-bay
