On the yak, I bring a Spike-It Garlic Dip-N-Glow MARKER. You'll be surprised how well the marker works. It has red on one end and chartreuse on the other. Very handy for refreshing the tail scent on the water.

I have been using the garlic dip to color my white plastics swim tails chartreuse for a long time- didn't know it was considered "hot rodding." I just though it was cool ...and it does work...the red color is something else- out in the Pacific NW, the guides dip (or soak) herring in bright colors and scent attractants, including "glitter.""Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

ProCure has a good selection of stinky fish goop as well.

Nice catches. Makes me want to go out too, but I'm like Ron. Although I like pullage, I also like to keep and eat. May wait until trophy season.
Kimbo talks a lot about hot-rodding in his book. It seems like a bit more trouble to prepare the plastic this way. I figure you still can catch good fish without the hassle. There's also Gulp plastics with attractants.2015 Hobie Outback (yellow)

Haha, yep, sure am...
It's a very interesting post too. Kinda relates to my question about EYES on lures and what makes fish bite. I'd love to hear what he has to say on the subject and will try to attend one of his talks.

C&R down here in Southern MD is a PIA because of the regs on hooks and lures fishing in the Potomac section of the Bay- fish are here and you can catch them, but I don't want to change out the hooks on all my trolling lures- I am cool with the size of circle hooks required for bait fishing just the ones on lures- figure I'll fish fresh water lakes and creeks for a couple of more weeks and take advantage of crappie schooling up- and DNR stocked brown and rainbow trout-"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS
